All lids are made of heavy gauge metal and a strong one-piece design.  They are hand polished and shipped in a gift box.  The lids are designed to replace the metal lids on Copenhagen products, but fit over the plastic lids that come with other brands.  DO NOT THROW AWAY PLASTIC LIDS!  Tuck the plastic lid inside the silver lid, it will be snug for a good fit.
